KUALA LANGAT, 05 August 2025: SJK(T) Jenjarom was named the overall champion of the 2025 Kuala Langat District Schools Kabaddi Championship, which was held from July 29 to July 30. The school’s exceptional performance was highlighted by strong showings from both its boys’ and girls’ teams.
The girls’ team demonstrated a dominating performance, winning first place in their category. Their success was underscored by several individual awards: T. Tishalini was recognized as Best Player, V. Riccina as Best Raider, and P. Mahaletchumy as Best Defender. Meanwhile, the boys’ team fought hard and secured a third-place finish.
The school’s headmaster, Mr. Ramasamy Nadeson PBB, extended his heartfelt praise to the students for their outstanding performance and achievements. He also expressed appreciation to the dedicated team of instructors: Mrs. S. Manonmani and Mr. M. Prabhakaran, along with their assistants, Mrs. M. Sundari, Mr. K. Parthiban, Mrs. S. Premalatha, and Mrs. R. Thenmozhi. He also acknowledged the valuable guidance provided by co-curricular instructor Mr. M. Sudhagar and thanked the Parent-Teacher Association for their support.
This victory marks another significant milestone in the school’s athletic history. The girls’ kabaddi team had previously won the state-level competition in Selangor in October 2023, where one of its prominent players, Tharani d/o Prakash Nagaraj, was awarded the Best Rider title. The school’s success reflects the growing interest in kabaddi among female athletes and demonstrates that the sport is truly genderless.
