29 SEPTEMBER: The body of 46-year-old Salmah Mat Zain, swept away by floodwaters in Kampung Tanjung Kanan, was discovered at 7:45 a.m. by rescue teams.
This follows the discovery of her son, Muhammad Rosman, a 19-year-old with learning disabilities, the previous evening. The two were believed to have been trying to hold onto a tree when they were overwhelmed by strong currents.
Salmah’s body was found 50 meters from her son, trapped under palm fronds. Both were located after a search involving multiple rescue agencies. Authorities urge residents to avoid wading into floodwaters to prevent such tragic incidents.
The bodies were sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for further investigation as stated in BULETIN TV3.
