Kuala Lumpur, August 12: The six state electorates were advised by the prime minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, to vote for their ballots as soon as possible and without holding up the process.

The leader of Pakatan Harapan (PH) also encouraged people to cast their ballots. After casting his ballot at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Penanti in the Permatang Pasir seat there today, he told reporters, “The campaigning is now over, so let’s get back together and mend our ties.” Anwar stated that as of this morning at 10 am, the situation in all six states is nice and quiet.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed that the outcome of the state elections would have no bearing on how the federal government would be run while he was in office. State elections are currently taking place.

Tomorrow, the federal government will carry out its regular operations as usual, we will continue our job, and the outcomes of the state election will decide the composition of the new state government, he added. Anwar and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, arrived at the voting place at 9:41 am to cast their votes. Penang police head Datuk Khaw Kok Chin and Seberang Perai Tengah district police commander ACP Tan Cheng San welcomed them.

In the six state elections, which are for 40 seats in Penang, Selangor (56), Negeri Sembilan (36), Kedah (36), Terengganu (32) and Kelantan (45), more than 9.67 million registered voters are anticipated to exercise their right to vote.
