21 NOVEMBER: A 57-year-old fisherman in Batu Pahat fell victim to a non-existent foreign currency investment scam, losing over RM113,000. The fraud began when he received a WhatsApp message from an unknown individual promising high returns on minimal investments, starting at RM520.
Enticed by quick profits, he transferred money to multiple accounts as instructed, totalling RM113,000 between September and October. Despite fulfilling all requests, he was unable to withdraw the supposed profits and realized he was duped. The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating as stated in BULETIN TV3.
