Kuala Lumpur, 16th August : Yesterday morning, over 250 demonstrators from 37 organizations gathered at the Bangladeshi High Commission to demand an end to violence against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh.
The protesters displayed slogans such as “Hindu lives matter,” “Stop attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh,” and “We can’t abandon Bangladeshi Hindus,” calling for immediate action against what they describe as a “genocide” perpetrated by Islamic radicals.

Mr. Shashi Kumar, President of the Global Human Rights Federation, criticized Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his lack of condemnation regarding the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.
Similarly, in the Gaza Strip, about 2 million Palestinians have been displaced, and around forty thousand have died due to the ongoing Israeli offensive. Malaysia is committed to supporting Palestine and ending the violence, holding Israel accountable.
Mr Shashi highlighted in that video, the Hindu population in Bangladesh has plummeted from 23.1 percent of the population in 1971 to 9.6 percent minorities today, Hindus about 8.7%, largely due to ongoing persecution by Islamic radicals. He emphasized that while Anwar has been vocal about the situation in Gaza, his response to the Bangladesh crisis has been less visible.
Mr Shashi called for genuine equality and stronger action to address the plight of Bangladesh Hindus.
People don’t need religion, religion needs people. They’re just corporations and they need your money to thrive. Religion doesn’t make you a better person, intelligence and kindness does. Religion doesn’t feed the poor, good people with big hearts do that.
