Here are the new SOPs for non-Muslim houses of worship

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 15: The National Unity Ministry (KPN) has announced the standard operating procedures (SOP) for the opening of non-Muslim houses of worship during the National Recovery Plan (PPN) period.

These SOPs are applicable for those are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Following are the new SOPs:

States and territories in Phase One (1): Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Kedah, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor are allowed to open temples with some restrictions.

1. Fully vaccinated people and completed 14 days only can go to temple. Only 50 devotees are allowed to enter temple at the same time.

2. Temple approved to operate from morning 6am to 2pm and evening 4pm to 10pm only.

3. Hindu priest and temple helpers who are fully vaccinated only allowed to open temple.  

4. Devotees who have not been vaccinated will not be allowed to open temple.

5. Only twelve management members allowed to enter temple at the time.

States in Phase two (2): Penang, Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, and Sabah are allowed to open temples with some restrictions.

1. Fully vaccinated people and completed 14 days only can go to temple. Only 50 devotes are allowed to enter temple at the same time.

2. Temple approved to operate from morning 6am to 2pm and evening 4pm to 10pm only.

3. Hindu priest and management members who are fully vaccinated only allowed to open temple.

4. If Hindu priest and temple helpers just got their first dos only, total of twelve management members and devotes allowed to open temple.

States in Phase Three (3): Perlis, Sarawak, and Labuan are allowed to open temples with some restrictions.

1. Fully vaccinated people and completed 14 days only can go to temple.

2. Only 50 % devotees are allowed to enter temple at the same time.

3. Temple approved to operate from morning 6am to 2pm and evening 4pm to 10pm only.

4. Hindu priest and temple helpers who are fully vaccinated only allowed to open temple.

However, any ritual functions and marriage functions are not allowed to operate in any states during this National Recovery Plan.

Meanwhile, Malaysia Hindu Sangam has advised that everyone should wear mask at all time, scan MySejahtera before entering or write name before enter temple and follow one meter social distance.
