KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 15: Hundreds staged demonstrations at the Khulna Picture Palace, Bangladesh, protesting against attacks and intimidation against religious minorities in the country.
The protest held after the recent attack at four temples located at Shiali village in Rupsha Upazila.

Previously, the Dhaka Tribune reported that miscreants attacked at least four Hindu temples, some shops and households belonging to the minority community in Bangladesh’s Khulna district.
The incident took place on Aug 7 in Shiali village in Rupsha Upazila following a heated altercation between Hindu and Muslim residents on Aug 6 night.
Hindu-based organisations including World Hindu Federation – Bangladesh Chapter, Bangladesh Jatiyo Hindu Mohajote, Bangladesh Hindu Parshad, Shiv Shakti, and others attended and participated in a protest march organised by the World Hindu Federation – Bangladesh Chapter.
They demanded that all perpetrators receive due justice and exemplary punishment.
They also want the government to take the necessary actions to prohibit Hindus in Bangladesh from being persecuted.
On Aug 7, 10 Hindu temples and all idols, including six temples were damaged and 56 Hindu homes were looted, containing jewellery, valuables, and cows.
In Bangladesh, the minority Hindu population has been the target of a series of communal violence.
The attackers, according to some local news portals, came from the Sheikhpura, Bamandanga, and Chadpur regions.
The Bangladesh Chapter of the World Hindu Federation strongly condemns such a horrible act.
Dipan Mitra, Secretary General of the World Hindu Federation-Bangladesh Chapter, demanded that all the perpetrators be apprehended and punished severely. He also wants that the government conduct a fair trial of such crimes, as well as proper compensation and security for the victims.
