‘I REGRET SENDING MY SON TO THE NAVY,’SAYS CADET SOOSAIMANICCKAM’S FATHER

KUALA LUMPUR 2nd AUGUST : J. Soosaimanicckam’s father has requested that Bukit Aman initiate a murder inquiry into his son’s departure, after the High Court decided that the death was a homicide.
Joseph Sinnappan, accompanied by solicitors N. Surendran and Zaid Malek, lodged a complaint with the police at the district headquarters here today as stated in New Strait Times
Joseph stated that although his son was in good health upon entering the academy, he passed away on May 19, 2018, while undergoing training at the KD Sultan Idris, Lumut naval facility in Perak .
“I regret sending my son to the navy. They were careless and negligent and because of that, my son is dead,” he told the reporters, Yahoo News stated.
“At that time, the father made the police report and asked for action. He said his son should not have died in that manner, but there was never any investigation carried out,” Surendran told reporters, source Malaymail
Judge Datuk Abdul Wahab Mohamed of the High Court declared on Monday that Soosaimanicckam’s death was a homicide, directly brought on by his superiors in the Royal Malaysian Navy’s (TLDM) unwillingness to allow him to seek medical attention as stated in New Strait Times
“They’re very disappointed. Surendran stated, “The verdict was announced on Monday, but there has been no reaction from the defense minister, the defense ministry, the navy, the navy chief, or anyone else. The government and the Cabinet have also remained silent.”
Surendran said, “On Monday, the Ipoh High Court delivered a grave verdict, ruling that his son’s death was a homicide. This morning, Joseph filed a police report. We are requesting that Bukit Aman conduct the investigation due to the seriousness of the case. An independent investigation is essential “, as stated in Yahoo News
