MALAYSIANS IN INDIA, PAKISTAN ADVISED TO CONTACT HIGH COMMISSIONS FOR SECURITY

SEREMBAN 11TH May: Malaysians in Pakistan and India, especially students, are requested to make their way to the High Commissions of the countries in question and furnish complete information so that communication and assistance can be facilitated if needed.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan also asked Malaysians there to exercise caution and not travel to high-risk areas following the recent cross-border attacks.

“Malaysians there, especially students, are advised not to visit areas which are unsafe, especially in Kashmir, and to delay their trip there. No Malaysians have been affected so far,” he said at a press conference after officiating Sekolah Kebangsaan Senawang 3 Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) Meeting here Saturday (May 10).

The Rembau MP further added Malaysia called upon India and Pakistan to immediately desist from taking steps to aggravate the situation there.

Mohamad told Wisma Putra, in its latest release also informed the government of its monitoring the latest developments in that it has increased tensions between Pakistan and India, and called upon both countries to remain calm.

“We are extremely concerned about this incident, especially the shooting incidents with drones and rockets, which should be avoided. I hope the leaders of these two countries can think of the bigger picture rather than looking at the situation, which could make the country suffer,” he said.- (Source Bernama)
