Interstate Travel during Hari Raya is Postponed

KUALA LUMPUR 16 APRIL 2021: Ministry of Health (MOH) suggested a postponement of interstate travel during Hari Raya to next month.

The matter was informed by the Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba.

Moreover, he also informed that Bazar Ramadan will not be allowed if there is any new cluster that starts from Bazar activity.

Last Saturday, Senior Minister (security), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said MOH has to inform early about the interstate travel during Hari Raya.

He said it was following the decision on whether or not to allow the public to cross the state during the festival on the advice of the ministry.

The cross-state issue to go home for Eid is the main thing especially when Ramadan arrives.

When MOH makes a risk assessment, they know if it is open, what the risks are, or the effects. So let’s keep waiting for MOH’s announcement whether it is possible or not to cross the state in conjunction with Aidilfitri later.

It is not our power. We see what happened first when the government allowed cross-state access. There are 31 clusters back to the village, that’s why the MOH needs to be careful this time.

“We will make it public in the near future because we also do not want to disturb people who want to go back to the village because we know they too need to buy plane or bus tickets,” he said.
