Kerala Police Issues Look Out Notice for Actor Siddique

In a rape case brought by a female actor, special investigators from the Kerala Police Special Investigation Team on Wednesday issued a look-out notice for well-known Malayalam film actor and former General Secretary of AMMA Siddique. The actor has been on the run with his phone turned off since the Kerala High Court rejected his plea for anticipatory bail on Tuesday.
Police had circulated watch circulars at foreign airports to stop Siddique from running away. The Kerala Police, who believed the actor may have left the state, increased their search for him and put out a watch notice. The notification has been communicated with police chiefs in other states and distributed to all district police heads in Kerala.
On Wednesday, Siddique filed a case in the Supreme Court challenging the Kerala High Court’s decision to deny him anticipatory bail. Siddique has entered a plea in court, based on material posted on the website of the supreme court. The Kerala High Court noted that the evidence initially on file suggested Siddique might have been connected to the crime, even though it denied the bail request. Based on a 2016 allegation that an actress submitted, saying she was sexually assaulted by Siddique at the Mascot Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram, Siddique is being sued.
