Malaysia Celebrates Lalitaanjali Ravindran’s Gold at Karate Youth Open in China

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 August 2025: The 2nd Asian Karate Youth Open Championship & Training Camp took place in Hangzhou, China, in August 2025. It was a big event where Asia’s best young karate fighters came to compete and train. In this arena, Malaysian representative Lalitaanjali Ravindran gained praise by winning the top podium spot in the Cadet Female Kumite Individual 54 kg category.

Karate tournaments at this level are intense where athletes compete against strong opponents from all around Asia, each hoping to make their mark and progress their discipline through dedication and perseverance. In addition to the pressure to perform well for her team and represent Malaysia, Lalitaanjali also had personal goals of being the best in a very tough and technical sport. Her victory marks the peak moment, as she emerges as the division champion. This gold not only represents individual achievement, but it also reinforces Malaysia’s position in continental youth karate.

Lalitaanjali Ravindran’s success at the 2nd Asian Karate Youth Open Championship in Hangzhou is evidence of her skill, self-control, and the support system in her life. It’s an encouraging milestone that points to a promising future in martial arts and gives her community and her nation pride.

Lalitaanjali Ravindran competed in the Girls Individual Kumite (12 & 13 years old) division in the 47 kg class and is registered with KIBOKAN KARATE-DO SELANGOR (KIBOKAN SEL) of Malaysia. She competed in the 12 to 13 age category, indicating that she has been involved in formal contests since a young age, even though she is currently recognised for her cadet-level accomplishments.
