Lokesh Kanagaraj Unveils ‘Irumbu Kai Maayavi’ Plot and Teases Plans for ‘Leo 2’

Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently busy filming ‘Coolie’ with Rajinikanth and has a packed schedule ahead, with multiple sequels lined up for his previous films. During a recent interaction with students at a college event, the acclaimed director answered several questions regarding his upcoming projects.
One of the key revelations was about his long-awaited film, ‘Irumbu Kai Maayavi.’ Lokesh explained that he needs at least a year or two to complete this project, as it requires significant time and attention.
While still in the development stage, he reassured fans that the film would be a departure from his usual style, promising a drama without guns and blood. He also confirmed that ‘Irumbu Kai Maayavi’ would be a high-budget production, adding that he has been in regular discussions with Suriya regarding the film.Lokesh Kanagaraj also touched on his plans for ‘Leo 2.’
He expressed optimism that Vijay would continue acting in future projects, much to the delight of his vast fan base. If Vijay returns to acting after ‘Thalapathy 69,’ Lokesh intends to title the sequel ‘Parthiban,’ focusing on the hidden aspects of Vijay’s character from the original ‘Leo’ film.
Additionally, Lokesh shared his ambition to bring together all the characters from his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) for a major film that would serve as a culmination of his universe-building efforts. However, for now, he remains focused on completing his current commitments.
Beyond ‘Coolie,’ which stars Rajinikanth in the lead role, Lokesh’s upcoming projects include ‘Kaithi 2,’ another installment in the ‘Vikram’ series, and, of course, ‘Irumbu Kai Maayavi.’
