Karthi and Arvind Swamy’s latest film, “Meiyazhagan,” which debuted in cinemas last Friday, has been garnering widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences alike. Directed by Premkumar, this emotional drama follows the journey of a man who, after an unexpected encounter with a stranger, begins to rediscover his true self.
While the film has been praised for its engaging storyline and strong performances, some viewers have expressed concerns over its lengthy 3-hour runtime. Several audience members pointed out that certain parts of the second half felt slow and could have benefited from tighter pacing. In response to this feedback, the filmmakers have made a swift decision to trim 18 minutes from the film, reducing the runtime to a more concise 2 hours and 40 minutes. This revised version of “Meiyazhagan” is set to begin screening in theatres today.
The news of the cut has rapidly spread online, sparking discussions among fans and film enthusiasts. In addition to Karthi and Arvind Swamy’s performances, the film features a stellar supporting cast, including Rajkiran, Sri Divya, Swathi Konde, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, and Saran Shakthi. The music for “Meiyazhagan” has been composed by Govind Vasantha, with cinematography by Mahendiran Jayaraju and editing handled by R. Govindraj.
