KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12: Over 30 non-governmental organisations today handed over a memorandum to the High Commission of Pakistan condemning the demolishment of Hindu temples in Pakistan.

The memorandum handed over by the NGOs stated that the Pakistan government should act against attacking and vandalising of Hindu temples and religious sites in Pakistan by certain groups.

United Malaysian Hindu Voice (UMHV) chairman P. Navindran, who was also present, said that: “As seen by the different religious freedoms and rights in the Republic of India, Malaysia, and around the world, Hindus are typically tolerant of all religions.

“We urge Pakistan government to take immediate action against these religious and discriminatory attacks against Hindu temples in Pakistan,” he added.

Meanwhile, Atma Vidya Vanam president Swami Satprakashananda Sarasvati said that: “First secretary along with few officers of Pakistan embassy came out to the gate and accepted all our memorandums.

“The officers claimed that they have provided land to build Hindu temple there in Pakistan.

“The officer told us that, Pakistan Prime Minister (Imran Khan) taking action regarding this issue, but still they refuse to inform us about the condition of Hindu community there and the reason for the attack over the Hindu temples in Pakistan.

“We hope they will answer us after accepting our memorandums that submitted today. I would like to thank all the NGOs who stood together with us in this issue.

“We should stand together not only on this issue, but all injustice actions taken against Hindus all over the world,” he said after handing over the memorandum.
