PNB’s Role in Closing Wealth Gap for Bumiputera a ‘Sacred Duty’: PM Anwar

23rd August 2024 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the “sacred” responsibility of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) in improving the socio-economic status of the Bumiputera community.
Speaking at a PNB event, Anwar highlighted the organization’s foundational goal of mitigating ethnic wealth disparities, rooted in the New Economic Policy. He acknowledged PNB’s achievements but stressed the need for new strategies, including investments in education, food security, and digitalization.
Anwar’s remarks align with the government’s broader economic initiatives, including the recent Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035, as stated in Malaymail.
