KUALA LUMPUR, November 20: The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has agreed to form a federal government with the Barisan Nasional (BN), Perikatan Nasional (PN), and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

Abang Johari Openg, the GPS chairman who is also the Premier of Sarawak, stated that the decision was made to strengthen and stabilise the country in addition to the people’s well-being.
“A stable and strong government must be formed as soon as possible to ensure the well-being of the people and the national economy,” he said in a statement.

According to Bernama, GPS chose PN Chairman Muhyiddin Yassin as its prime minister candidate.
This statement came just hours after Muhyiddin and PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang reportedly met with Abang Johari to discuss the formation of a federal government following the 15th general election, in which no coalition received a simple majority.
