Rajinikanth Hospitalized in Chennai, Condition Reported as Stable

Veteran actor Rajinikanth was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai late Monday night, September 30. His condition is reported to be stable, and an official medical update is expected soon. According to reports, Rajinikanth had experienced stomach discomfort, prompting his visit to the hospital. However, sources have confirmed that the actor, known for his iconic role as Vettaiyan, will undergo an elective procedure today, October 1, which had been previously scheduled.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin extended his well wishes to the superstar for a swift recovery. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Stalin wrote in Tamil, expressing his concern and wishing Rajinikanth a speedy recovery. The message, loosely translated, reads, “I wish my friend Mr. Rajinikanth, who has been hospitalized, a quick recovery.”
Similarly, actor-politician R Sarath Kumar sent his regards to the actor. In a post shared in Tamil, Sarath Kumar expressed, “I wish my dear friend Mr. Rajinikanth, who has been admitted to the hospital due to a sudden illness, a speedy recovery. I pray that he returns to his usual duties with full energy and good health.”
News of Rajinikanth’s hospitalization has sparked concern among his devoted fans. Social media, especially X, has been flooded with messages and prayers from his admirers, all hoping for his swift recovery.
Rajinikanth had been actively involved in the shooting of his upcoming film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, over the past few weeks. The film is currently being shot in Visakhapatnam, but the actor had returned to Chennai on September 20 to attend the audio launch of another one of his films, Vettaiyan.
At the event, Rajinikanth was full of energy, even performing the popular hookstep from the song “Manasilaayo” alongside composer Anirudh Ravichander and lyricist Super Subbu. He also delivered a nearly hour-long speech, much to the delight of his fans.
Vettaiyan, a highly anticipated action drama directed by TJ Gnanavel, is set to release in theaters on October 10. Despite his recent health scare, Rajinikanth’s fans are hopeful that he will make a full recovery and continue his work on the silver screen.
