Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is set to headline director Aditya Dhar’s upcoming big-budget film, which also stars Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal. Recent reports suggest that 19-year-old former child actor Sara Arjun will make her debut as a leading actress, playing Ranveer’s love interest. However, the 20-year age gap between the two has triggered widespread backlash from fans online.
Though the casting has not been officially confirmed, Peeping Moon reports that Sara, who previously portrayed a young version of Aishwarya Rai’s character in Ponniyin Selvan, has been chosen for the role. Known for her performances in South Indian cinema, Sara is transitioning into a mainstream heroine after years as a child actor.
The casting news has stirred strong reactions on social media, with many criticizing the large age difference. Fans took to platforms like Reddit to express their frustration over Bollywood’s recurring trend of pairing older male actors with much younger actresses. Some voiced their disappointment, citing other notable instances of similar age gaps in the industry, while others pointed out that the casting decision may not be Ranveer’s fault.
As of now, the film’s producers have yet to confirm Sara’s involvement, but reports suggest she is actively pursuing roles to establish herself as a leading lady in Bollywood.
