Voicing for a Better Community

Tamil film director warns against attacking other religions

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 28: “If you want to hurt a religion or a community on stage anymore, you will come as a character in my film.”

This was the warning issued by Tamil film director Mohan G during his latest movie’s press meet.

Mohan G, who directed Draupadi, is currently expecting another release titled Rudra Thandavam.

The film is set to release in theatres on October 1.

“A close friend of mine is a priest. He told me; we have been living as a true Christian for so many years.

“Today a new gang comes and questions us without being a Hindu and a Christian. He said he didn’t know who to say this to,” he was quoted as saying by Nakkheeran portal.

“And he was the one who told the story and asked if you have the courage to take a picture like this.

“Only then did I realize how they had transformed Christianity into a corporate model. Then I decided that, this is our next film and started the work by naming it Rudra Thandavam. This is how the film started,” he was further quoted as saying by Nakkheeran.
