13th OCTOBER: Sri Maha Pratyangira Devi, a powerful manifestation of the Divine Mother, is revered as the “Mother of Moksha” (liberation). She embodies righteousness, truth, and justice, protecting her devotees by consuming their negative energies and karmas.
Known for her fierce form, with a lion’s head and a woman’s body, she balances masculine and feminine energies, leading followers towards spiritual liberation. Pratyangira Devi resides in the Void, a realm of pure consciousness and love, beyond time and space. She first revealed herself to the ancient sages, Angiras Maharishi and Pratyangira Maharishi, during meditation.
They named her Pratyangira in honor of their discovery. She manifests during times of imbalance in the world, signaling the arrival of a new spiritual era, Satya Yuga.Devotees believe worshiping Pratyangira Devi brings relief from karmic doshas, protection from enemies, and freedom from obstacles like diseases and curses.
She is especially known to ease Sarpa Dosham (snake-related issues) and Rahu Dosham. Her favored offerings include traditional foods like panakam, payasam, and vadai. Special poojas to honor her are performed on auspicious days like Amavasya, Ashtami, and Sundays.
