Two 18-Year-Old Students Killed in Tragic Three-Vehicle Crash in Tumpat

Kuala Lumpur, 17th August – Two 18-year-old students tragically lost their lives in a three-vehicle collision in Tumpat, Kelantan.

The accident occurred around 2 pm on Jalan Kampung Semat Jal, involving a motorcycle, a car, and a pickup truck. The victims, who were both riding the motorcycle, died on the spot due to severe head and body injuries.

According to Tumpat District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azmir Damiri, the motorcycle was heading from Kampung Semat Jal towards Tumpat town when it collided with a car coming from the opposite direction.

This impact caused the motorcycle to be thrown into the path of an oncoming pickup truck, resulting in the fatal crash. The bodies of the victims were taken to the Tumpat Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The police are currently investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which deals with causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

The tragedy highlights the dangers on the roads and the importance of cautious driving to prevent such devastating accidents, as stated in Malaymail.
