KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25: Barbershops in Malaysia now can reopen after several series of movement control orders (MCO), however it is too late for some business owners.
According to barbershop owner Kalaivanan Muniandy, many Indian barbershops have closed down for good since they have no other choice.
“Main problem I faced was, paying the shop rent fee.
“Without any income we still must pay the rent fee.
“Apart from rent fee, I was struggling to handle my commitments such as car loan, motorbike loan.
“The machines repaired because not using it for long time,” he told The Hindu Press.
Even after the reopen, he said, barbershop owner are still facing difficulties as only few customers are willing to get their hair cut since only fully vaccinated people are allowed.
“There are more people who are not fully vaccinated yet.
“Customers are hesitant to come to shop because of the the pandemic,” he added.
