Hundreds of Indians living without electricity in Ladang Dusun Durian

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26: For nearly a month, hundreds of Indians including disabled people, senior citizen, pregnant ladies, and children have lived in the Ladang Dusun Durian in Banting without electricity.

According to Human rights activist, S.Dayaalan, a private company, which leases the land in Ladang Dusun Durian, has cut off the electricity as the land lease has run out.

Dayaalan said, six months ago, the Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari promised to solve the residents’ housing problems through negotiations with housing contractors.

However, he added, that the there has been no response form the state government.

“The condition of the Indian community is very depressed in the Ladang Dusun Durian.

“We ask all parties, especially politicians, to help them get electricity,” he said.
