SHAH ALAM, AUGUST 17:
Police have reported that a light aircraft collision near Elmina in Shah Alam claimed the lives of ten individuals.
Eight passengers from the aeroplane as well as the drivers of a car and a motorbike impacted by the crashed jet were among the dead.
The Beechcraft Model 390 was flying from Langkawi International Airport to Subang Airport, according to Selangor Police Chief Hussein Omar Khan.
“The aeroplane, which had been given clearance to land, did not make an emergency call. Two minutes remained until touchdown for the aircraft.
According to Hussein, who added that people mentioned in the manifest were in their 40s and 50s, “We have the flight manifest but we cannot disclose any details at this point in time.”
There were six passengers and two crew members, according to Norazman Mahmud, chief executive officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).
“The aircraft made its initial contact with the Subang air traffic control tower at 2:47 p.m. At 2:48 PM, permission to land was granted. Although no Mayday call was issued by the aircraft, the control tower saw smoke coming from the accident site around 2.51 p.m., he said.
There are continuous search and rescue efforts.
