9th September 2024 – Two men tragically lost their lives after being buried alive while carrying out excavation work to install drainage pipes at a construction site in Kampung Matang Pagar, Sungai Buloh.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department reported receiving the emergency call at 3.17 pm. A team of firemen arrived at the scene, where it was found that both victims were trapped under collapsed soil. Despite efforts by the rescue team, both men were declared dead at the site.
The bodies were retrieved and handed over to the police for further investigation. Sungai Buloh police have classified the case as sudden death. The incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers faced by construction workers, highlighting the need for stringent safety measures in high-risk jobs such as excavation work, as stated in Berita Harian.
