8th NOVEMBER: Malaysia’s commitment to advancing human capital took the spotlight at the HRD Awards 2024 Gala Dinner, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). Recognising excellence in human resource development, the evening honoured 36 organisations, training providers, and individual trainers who set new standards in talent cultivation.

Among the most celebrated recipients were Abbott Penang, Alpha Industries Sdn Bhd, and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, each earning the prestigious Human Resources Minister’s Award in their respective categories. These awards, considered the highest honour of the event, highlighted the recipients’ remarkable contributions to enhancing their workforce and fostering industry-wide improvement.

The evening was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who underscored the importance of the HRD Awards as a platform not just for recognition, but for inspiration across Malaysia’s workforce landscape. “Tonight’s event is more than just an award ceremony; it recognises outstanding achievements in human resource development,” said Fadillah. He commended the honourees for their leadership and innovation, noting how they drive both organisational growth and set exemplary industry standards.

Further acknowledging the role of HRD Corp, Fadillah praised recent updates to the Allowable Cost Matrix (ACM), designed to enhance Malaysia’s training framework. “With more flexible course formats and higher claimable rates, these initiatives reflect our commitment to delivering accessible, high-quality training aligned with global best practices,” he added.

The event was also graced by Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad, HRD Corp chairman Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid, and HRD Corp CEO Datuk Shahul Dawood, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to nurturing a world-class workforce as stated in NST.
