COIMBATORE – A tragic search ended on Friday when a missing girl that Coimbatore security teams were looking for was found dead on a plot of land near the Kannampalayam tank bund. The ten-year-old victim, a Class V student at a local government school, had completely disappeared on Thursday evening while playing near her residence. Her body was later discovered hidden deep inside the bushes of a nearby coconut grove, sending deep shockwaves through the local community.
The gruesome discovery in this high-profile missing girl Coimbatore case triggered immediate outrage from residents and family members. Protesters staged a massive road blockade on Tiruchi Road directly in front of the Sulur police station on Friday night. The demonstration lasted for eight hours, halting arterial traffic until early Saturday morning as the public demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible.

Law enforcement officials acted swiftly by forming five special teams to investigate the missing girl in Coimbatore. Investigators reviewed footage from approximately 250 surveillance cameras in the area. The video evidence showed a local acquaintance luring the young girl away on a two-wheeler by promising her chocolates.
Police cornered the prime suspect, K. Karthi, at an apartment building in Kannampalayam. Karthi sustained severe fractures to his leg and arm while attempting to escape by jumping from the first floor. He confessed to the assault and murder during interrogation, naming R. Mohan as his accomplice. Both men have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody under the POCSO Act.
Local residents are now demanding increased police patrolling and fencing around the scenic but deserted tank bunds. Community members note that these unlit, isolated areas frequently attract anti-social elements. Authorities have assured the public that stricter security measures will be implemented to prevent future tragedies.
