KUALA LUMPUR, 23 June 2025: Prominent educationist and founder of the Sri Murugan Centre (SMC), Tan Sri Dr M. Thambirajah, passed away today at the age of 83. His passing was confirmed by SMC co-director Surain Kanda to Bernama.
Members of the public are invited to pay their last respects to Tan Sri Dr M. Thambirajah tomorrow (June 24, 2025) at SMC Ashramam, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, from 10 am to 2 pm. The final rites are scheduled to be held at Nirwana Setia Alam at 3 pm.
Surain Kanda lauded Tan Sri Dr M. Thambirajah as “more than just a leader; he was a visionary whose mission was clear – that every Indian home should produce at least one graduate”. His tireless efforts are credited with transforming the lives of thousands through education
