Bernard Chandran and Putri Ariani Honored at The Knights Award 2024

16th October: Renowned Malaysian fashion icon Datuk Seri Bernard Chandran was among the distinguished individuals recognized at the prestigious The Knights Award 2024, which took place recently at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Now in its third edition, the event celebrated 44 outstanding personalities and corporate entities across various industries. Bernard received the Duke Award for his significant contributions to the fashion world.
Expressing his gratitude, Bernard called the recognition one of the most meaningful moments of his fashion career. “This award is incredibly special to me. It serves as a testament to my journey in fashion over the years,” he said.
Indonesian singer Putri Ariani, another honoree, was selected for the Earl Award but was unable to attend the ceremony. The 18-year-old, who was born blind, expressed her deep appreciation for the honor. “I am incredibly grateful for this golden recognition,” Putri said, reflecting on her achievements despite her challenges as a person with disabilities.
The Knights Award is a prestigious accolade that celebrates excellence in various sectors. Its President, Dr. Zyro Wong, explained that this year’s global edition included three categories of recognition: Duke, Earl, and Baron. He emphasized that the awards highlight not only contributions to Malaysia’s economy but also those impacting Asia as a whole.
“In alignment with the Malaysia Madani initiative, this award strategically aims to elevate Malaysia as a center of excellence and innovation on the global stage,” Wong remarked, adding that the award also seeks to foster cross-border collaborations and build a strong business ecosystem.
This year’s edition was proudly presented by Mee Hiris China Muslim, continuing its mission to honor individuals and corporations making a lasting impact as stated in Kosmo Online.
