Foreign Worker Arrested for Jumping in Front of Moving Car

23rd September 2024: A foreign worker was arrested after intentionally jumping in front of a moving car, causing an accident in Bandar Sungai Long, Kajang. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, went viral when a dashboard camera captured footage of a man wearing a red shirt standing on the roadside before suddenly leaping into an oncoming vehicle.
According to Kajang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, the 32-year-old suspect was arrested around 6 p.m. near Bandar Sungai Long. The incident occurred on September 17 at 11:53 a.m., involving two damaged vehicles due to the suspect’s actions.
Although the man sustained only minor injuries, he fled the scene before his identity could be verified. Investigations are ongoing to determine his motive, while his mental health remains under assessment. Initial urine tests returned negative for drugs.
The suspect is being investigated under Section 336 of the Penal Code for endangering the lives of others, which could result in up to three months’ imprisonment or a RM500 fine. Additionally, he is being investigated under Section 6(1)(C) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 for lacking proper identification documents, as stated in Berita Harian.
