Kolkata Doctor Murder Case: Accused Sanjoy Roy Shows No Remorse

KOLKATA, 16 August: Sanjoy Roy, the accused in the rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor from R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata, has shockingly admitted his guilt but displayed no remorse. The victim’s body was discovered on August 9, with the crime reportedly occurring between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. that morning. Roy was arrested on August 10.

In a disturbing turn of events, Roy confessed to both sexually assaulting and killing the trainee doctor. Despite widespread public outrage and protests, Roy responded to his arrest with a chilling statement to the police: “Hang me if you want.”

Further investigation revealed that Roy, a 33-year-old civic volunteer who joined the Kolkata police in 2019, had disturbing content on his mobile phone, including violent pornography. Roy, who had been married multiple times and was known as a ‘womanizer,’ had a history of physically abusing his wives. He was also trained as a boxer and had connections with senior police officers, which facilitated his posting to the R.G. Kar Medical College & Hospital.

Following the crime, Roy reportedly went to a police barrack and slept until the following morning. His arrest and the grim details of his past have incited significant anger and protests among the public as stated in ARY NEWS.
