At the Pippi Pippi Dum Dum Dum launch event in Mumbai, actor Dhanush candidly shared insights about his role in the forthcoming socio-political drama Kuberaa. Contrary to popular belief, he didn’t dive deep into character study or undergo any specialized training. “I didn’t do any research,” he confessed, adding that rumours about scorching under the sun for preparation were also “lies.” Instead, he entrusted the process entirely to director Sekhar Kammula, following his guidance on nuances and local slang.

Dhanush, who portrays a beggar in the film, remarked that shooting in a Mumbai dump yard was “nostalgic and enlightening,” reconnecting him with his humble beginnings . Highlighting the simplicity and authenticity of the shoot, he emphasized that Kammula’s direction made the experience seamless and meaningful. During the same event, co-stars Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna were present to promote the film. Nagarjuna also heaped praise on Rashmika for her meteoric rise in Indian cinema.

Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula and co-starring Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh, is set to release on 20 June 2025 across multiple languages.
