KUALA LUMPUR — Persatuan Bekas Pelajar Sekolah Tamil Malaysia (PERTAMA) will lead two major educational initiatives on Saturday, 12 September 2026, combining early childhood literacy development with advanced digital teacher training at the National Library, Kuala Lumpur.
The comprehensive single-day event integrates a hands-on “AI in Education Workshop” in the morning, followed by the national launch of the “Vasippai Nesippom” book drive and certification ceremony in the afternoon.
Empowering Educators Through Practical AI Integration (8:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
Organised in collaboration with NKN STEM Education Group and Winvalley Innovations, the morning workshop equips educators with modern technological competencies to streamline lesson planning, optimize administrative tasks, and elevate classroom engagement.
Key focus areas for participating teachers include,
- AI Fundamentals & Productivity Tools – Understanding core AI principles and leveraging digital tools to cut down administrative workload.
- Classroom Innovation – Utilizing AI for personalized lesson design, interactive learning activities, and automated assessment feedback.
- Ethics and Future-Readiness – Implementing data privacy, academic integrity, and responsible AI practices in digital teaching.
National Tamil Literacy Drive Targets 5,000 Book Sets (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
The afternoon session shifts focus to expanding early childhood reading materials across Tamil vernacular schools (SJKT) nationwide. Organisers are raising sponsorships for 5,000 Tamil-language book sets (Nithirai Kathaigal) to strengthen early reading comprehension and storytelling skills.
- Target Goal : 5,000 complete book sets
- Sponsorship Cost: RM 125.00 per set
Guest of Honour and Official Launch
Deputy Minister of National Unity YB Tuan Yuneswaran Ramaraj will officiate the ceremony as the Guest of Honour. The event brings together educators, community leaders, and literacy advocates to support educational development in Tamil vernacular schools (SJKT).
