Schoolgirl Injured After Knife Attack At Banting School

SHAH ALAM – A Form Three schoolgirl was injured this morning after being stabbed by another teenager at a secondary school in Banting, Kuala Langat.

Kuala Langat district police chief Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi confirmed the incident. He stated that the 15-year-old victim is currently in stable condition at Banting Hospital.

The attack occurred around 9:50 AM inside the school grounds. Panic spread online after viral videos showed a teenage girl dressed in black walking through the compound while holding a knife. Students could be seen fleeing the area in fear during the commotion.

School teachers managed to calm the suspect before authorities arrived. Police officers arrested the 15-year-old female suspect on the scene and successfully recovered the weapon used in the assault.

“The suspect has been detained to assist with the investigation,” Supt Mohd Akmalrizal said in a statement. He added that the case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.

The Selangor Education Department is cooperating fully with the police. They have deployed a team of counselors to the school to offer psychological support to traumatized students and staff. Cops have urged the public to stop spreading unverified rumors while the investigation continues.
