Tamil Actor Abhinay, Known for ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’, Dies at 44 

CHENNAI, 10 November 2025: Tamil cinema has lost one of its talents with the passing of actor Abhinay, who died today in Chennai at the age of 44. The actor, best known for his role in the 2002 coming-of-age film ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’, had been battling a prolonged illness.

Sources close to the family confirmed that the actor had been undergoing treatment for a severe liver disease. Despite a long health struggle, Abhinay succumbed to the illness, bringing an abrupt end to his life and career.

Remembering ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’

Abhinay gained recognition through his debut in the landmark movie ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’ (2002), which was directed by Kasthuri Raja and written by Selvaraghavan. The film was pivotal in launching the careers of several young actors, including Dhanush. Abhinay’s performance as one of the lead school students resonated with the youth audience, establishing his place in the film’s narrative.

Following his notable debut, Abhinay appeared in a few other Tamil films. However, it is his youthful role in the highly influential ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’ that remains his most memorable work.
