GOVERNMENT RETAINS T20 BUDI95 ELIGIBILITY

KUALA LUMPUR — Transport Minister Anthony Loke says the T20 group will still get cheap fuel. The government will not cut the Budi95 subsidy for high-income earners yet. Leaders want to keep the system simple for now. This choice helps avoid long lines and technical errors at the pump.

The current fuel plan uses your MyKad at the station. This is the most direct way to track how much petrol people buy. Minister Loke says the Cabinet likes this easy method. It stops fuel theft without making things hard for drivers. You can find more details on the Official Budi Madani Portal.

This update comes as oil prices rise worldwide. Global prices have hit RM3.87 per litre for RON95. Right now, Malaysia spends RM4 billion every month on fuel aid. To save money, the government set new rules:

  • Monthly Limit: You can only buy 200 litres of cheap fuel each month.
  • Fixed Price: The price stays at RM1.99 per litre within that limit.
  • Market Price: You pay the full price if you use more than 200 litres.

The government is still looking at ways to save money. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim wants to target the richest people in the future. This will help the country pay off its debt. For now, the Ministry of Finance says the MyKad system is the best tool. Check our Government News Section for more stories like this.
