PUTRAJAYA – The National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Day 2026 celebration was officially launched today, June 5, 2026, at Dataran Putrajaya. Running under the theme “TVET, the Top Career Choice”, the high-profile, three-day event highlights skills-based education as a primary driver of local economic competitiveness and future workforce development. The venue expects to draw more than 500,000 visitors as it connects training institutions directly with top corporate employers.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officially inaugurate the highlight of the national celebration tomorrow morning at 10 am. Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who also chairs the National TVET Council, is scheduled to visit the main exhibition site later this evening at 6 pm. The event marks a major milestone for the Malaysia MADANI framework, which elevates technical skills into a high-priority national asset to meet the evolving needs of global industries.

The sprawling showcase operates daily from 9 am to 10 pm through Sunday. It brings together 107 government agencies alongside prominent global industry players representing nine key economic sectors, including aerospace, electronics, digital technology, and advanced manufacturing. Notably, international confidence in the local training ecosystem is on full display, with 30 specialist exhibitors from China participating in the central pavilions.
For job seekers and youth, the core attraction is the Career Carnival segment. The platform offers nearly 3,000 corporate job vacancies and features on-the-spot interview rooms to accelerate immediate employment. Organizers have arranged six specialized interactive segments across the grounds, including educational seminars, entrepreneurship challenges, and open infotainment zones to boost public awareness of the vocational sector.
National TVET Council member Mohamed Khairul Azman Abdul Azeez noted that extensive preparations ensure the public gains deep exposure to modern career paths. He emphasised that technical education is no longer viewed as a secondary option or an alternative pathway. Instead, it has successfully emerged as an elite primary career choice capable of providing strong graduate employability prospects and competitive starting incomes for the next generation of Malaysian workers.
