Ministry of Health ambulance crash leaves two patients hurt

JERTIH – A sudden car crash has caused big worries in Terengganu. Specifically, a Ministry of Health ambulance crash left two emergency patients hurt on Tuesday evening. The bad accident took place on Jalan Jertih in Kampung Cherang Meliling. At that time, the medical van was carrying two men from an earlier bike crash. According to the police, the van was rushing to Besut Hospital. But then, the bad crash took place on the road.

Multi-Vehicle Collision Unfolds

Besut Police Chief Supt Mohd Rozaime Ab Rahman gave a clear statement on the case. Reports show that the crash happened around 5:00 PM. Specifically, a private car crossed over from the right side of the road. As a result, the car hit the oncoming medical van. This quick hit made the driver lose complete control of the van.

So, the medical van spun fast toward the left side of the track. It then hit a parked car and pushed it into a deep ditch. Meanwhile, the two male patients inside the van got hurt more. One man suffered bad bodily wounds. But the other man escaped with just small cuts. Luckily, the van driver, the medical crew, and the car driver did not get hurt at all.

Urgent Medical Transfers Follow

Right after the hit, backup medical teams rushed out to help the men. For example, crew workers sent a new van to the spot in just a few minutes. Medics then moved both hurt men into the new ride. Fortunately, the crash site was less than one kilometer away from Besut Hospital. Therefore, doctors were able to treat the men without long delays.

Right now, the front part of the first van is in very bad shape. Furthermore, local traffic police have started an active probe into the crash. They are checking the case under the Road Transport Act 1987. This rule covers bad and careless driving on public roads. In the end, chiefs remind all drivers to give way to medical vans.
