Selangor Resilience Package Phase 2 channels RM209m

SHAH ALAM – Proactive measures have been taken to protect the state economy from international supply chain shocks. Specifically, the state government announced 15 new initiatives worth RM209.26 million under Phase 2 of the Selangor Resilience Package. Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari presented the fresh intervention plan during a Special Sitting of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly on Friday.

Tackling Energy Disruptions via the Selangor Resilience Package

This massive funding injection aims to buffer local industries against rising operational costs. For instance, global conflicts impacting the Strait of Hormuz previously triggered serious knock-on effects on fuel prices and logistics. Amirudin emphasized that although international tensions are beginning to ease, the domestic economic structure must be reinforced immediately. Therefore, this second phase of the Selangor Resilience Package heavily targets manufacturing, food supply chains, housing, and education.

The state’s manufacturing and logistics hubs in Port Klang and KLIA are vital drivers of the national economy. Because local businesses are highly vulnerable to expensive input costs, this support serves as a necessary industrial shield. Under this strategy, funds will help local firms maintain modern services. Consequently, the regional job market will remain stable, reducing the risk of sudden layoffs.

Safeguarding Citizen Welfare via the Agrofirm Sector

Beyond corporate survival, the social welfare of vulnerable groups remains a top priority for the state administration. For example, the fund allocation includes a RM6 million boost for the Selangor Agropreneur Assistant scheme, directly benefiting 2,469 farmers and fishermen through cash vouchers. The state is also activating affordable basic food sales to ease pressure on household budgets. These measures ensure that inflationary weights do not crush low-and-middle-income families.

Meanwhile, digital initiatives and skill training are being ramped up to build a highly competitive workforce. The state government is collaborating with development agencies to provide a more sustainable business ecosystem. In total, the combined allocations for Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Selangor Resilience Package now reach RM355.06 million. Through this strong financial commitment, Selangor aims to maintain its status as a crisis-proof economic powerhouse.
