Datuk N. Sadasivan Pillay, the former head of Malaysia’s top investment agency, has died at 86. His family confirmed that he passed away on Sunday morning after a short illness.

A Legacy Of National Growth
Sadasivan served as the Director-General of MIDA from 1984 to 1995. During his long career, he helped turn Malaysia into a global factory hub. Consequently, many corporate leaders remember him as a brilliant businessman and policy expert.
Additionally, he led the country’s first big industrial master plan to success. Under his watch, MIDA became a simple, one-stop center for foreign investors.
Final Rites In Kuala Lumpur
Furthermore, Sadasivan served on several major corporate boards after leaving public office. He leaves behind two sons, Deepak and Navin.
The family will hold his wake at the Nirvana 2 Centre in Kuala Lumpur. Finally, the cremation will take place at Nirvana Shah Alam.
