GLASGOW — Malaysia finished a great run at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games with 16 total medals. The national team brought home eight gold, three silver, and five bronze medals from Scotland.

The weightlifting team led the way for the country. Lifters won five gold medals across different men’s categories. Mohamad Aniq Kasdan, Muhamad Aznil Bidin, Muhammad Erry Hidayat, Muhammad Hafizuddin Roslin, and Mohamad Syahmi Nor Ghazali all placed first.

Track cyclist Datuk Mohd Azizulhasni Awang won gold in the men’s Keirin event. Para athlete Datuk Abdul Latif Romly secured gold in the men’s T20 long jump. Judoka Amir Daniel Abdul Majeed also took gold in the men’s under-81kg category.

Malaysia added three silver medals in lawn bowls and weightlifting. Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple took silver in the men’s singles. Aleena Ahmad Nawawi and Syafiqa Haidar Afif Abdul Rahman placed second in women’s pairs. Siti Aqilah Farhana Draman added a silver in women’s weightlifting.

Five bronze medals completed the national victory tally. Highlights included powerlifter Bonnie Bunyau Gustin and weightlifter Irene Jane Henry. The strong result shows great depth across both main and para sports events.
