KUALA LUMPUR, September 8 – A local cultural organization is hosting a fully SRFA sponsored wedding program to help couples facing financial hardship tie the knot. Pertubuhan Kesenian dan Kebudayaan SRFA launched the initiative under its Kondattam SRFA 2026 campaign. Consequently, community organizers are working alongside federal ministries to cover all major wedding expenses for underprivileged families.
Community Drive For SRFA Sponsored Wedding Candidates
The project, titled Namma Nattu Kalyanam 2026, forms a core part of the official Festival Budaya Malaysia 2026. The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) supports the event at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa in Kuala Lumpur.
The program aims to assist couples who cannot afford traditional wedding celebrations. Through corporate and private contributions, selected brides and grooms receive free attire and jewelry. Selladurai Textiles will supply the wedding sarees and vesthis, while Thisa Jewelry Collections provides bridal ornaments. Additionally, celebrity chef Dr. Nareshesh has joined the project as an official strategic partner.
Two-Day Schedule For SRFA Sponsored Wedding Events
The celebration spans two main sessions during the national cultural festival. The traditional Sangeeth and Mehendi Night will take place on Saturday, September 12, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The main SRFA sponsored wedding ceremony will follow on Sunday, September 13, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
