[PRESS STATEMENT] “Vasipai Nesipom – Nithirai Kathaigal” Project Ignites Passion for Literacy Among Tamil School Students.

The Persatuan Bekas Pelajar Sekolah Tamil Jalan Cheras and the Persatuan Bekas Pelajar Sekolah-Sekolah Tamil Malaysia are proud to announce the launch of the “Vasipai Nesipom – Nithirai Kathaigal” project, a collaborative initiative aimed at fostering a lifelong love of reading among students in Tamil schools nationwide.

PERTAMA represents 530 Tamil schools across Peninsular Malaysia and is committed to supporting Tamil education and promoting the beauty and richness of the Tamil language. For the past 15 years, PERTAMA has been operating in 11 states of Malaysia, fostering strong ties between alumni and schools, and contributing significantly to the advancement of Tamil education in Malaysia.

Meanwhile Persatuan Bekas Pelajar Sekolah Tamil Jalan Cheras, have been organising many projects focusing on student development in Tamil Schools. Distribution of mock UPSR Papers to Tamil Schools nationwide is one of the most significant projects undertaken by us. While executing this project, we touch base with more than 350 schools nationwide. We also have assisted several Tamil Schools to refurbish their school libraries and presented books to students and many Tamil schools in past under our flagship project known as “ Vasipai Nesipom”.

This meaningful initiative brings together former students and community leaders in a shared mission to inspire the younger generation through distribution of “Nithirai Kathaigal” – collection of bedtime stories in Tamil. Through this program we aimed to enrich the reading corners, encourage storytelling sessions, and interactive literacy programs. “Vasipai Nesipom – Nithirai Kathaigal” seeks to enrich the educational environment and promote academic excellence in Tamil schools.

We believe reading is the foundation for future success. This initiative is our way of giving back to the schools that shaped us. By uniting our efforts, we aim to create lasting impact in nurturing young minds and building a strong culture of literacy within our communities.

We call all the Tamil School Alumnus to take this as opportunity to contribute back to their respective Tamil schools. For participation and further information, please contact Mr. Parthiban Ramachandran at 017-6834685 or visit our Facebook page at ‘Dimension Book’.

Together, let’s cultivate a generation that loves to read and learns to lead.
