Apple Releases Special Haptic Trailer for F1 Movie Feel the Engine Roar in Your Hands

Apple has launched a unique new trailer for its upcoming F1 movie starring Brad Pitt. But this is no ordinary trailer. It is what Apple is calling a haptic trailer, meaning your iPhone will vibrate in sync with the action on screen to enhance the viewing experience.

The F1 movie lands in theaters in the United States on June 27, and internationally on June 25. To build excitement, Apple is showcasing the power of the Taptic Engine in modern iPhones by letting fans actually feel the engine roars, track rumbles, and more through vibrations.

To try it out, you need an iPhone running iOS 18.4 or later. Open the TV app and go to the TV Plus tab. You should see a banner for the haptic trailer. If it is not there, just search for F1 The Movie and you will find the haptic trailer under the film’s detail page.

As you watch, the trailer delivers precise vibrations that match the visuals. When Brad Pitt’s character Sonny revs his F1 car around the track, your phone vibrates in rhythm with the speed and power of the engine. Even smaller moments are enhanced. For instance, when Sonny bounces a ping pong ball on his racket, each bounce is followed by a subtle tap in your hand.

This kind of interactive trailer is not meant for full movie viewing but serves as a fun and impressive showcase of Apple’s haptic feedback technology. It gives a preview of how immersive mobile experiences can become when software and hardware are tightly integrated.

After its exclusive theatrical release, F1 The Movie will eventually stream on Apple TV Plus, giving fans another way to enjoy the action at home.
