PETALING JAYA, 25 August 2025: The Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) has launched a new unified brand, “Lindung,” to simplify its social protection services and schemes. This initiative aims to make the organization’s offerings more accessible and understandable to the public.

According to Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong, the rebranding effort categorizes Perkeso’s services into four new pillars:

  • LINDUNG PEKERJA: For all schemes and services under the Employees’ Social Security Act 1969.
  • LINDUNG KERJAYA: For employment and career development schemes under the Employment Insurance System Act 2017.
  • LINDUNG KENDIRI: To replace the existing Self-Employed Social Security Scheme (SKSPS) for gig workers.
  • LINDUNG KASIH: To take over the current Housewives Social Security Scheme (SKSSR).

The minister stated that the move was a response to public confusion caused by numerous schemes with similar-sounding names. He emphasized that the rebranding is intended to improve communication and ensure that workers, even in rural and remote areas, are aware of their rights and available protections.

The new brand is more than just a cosmetic change; it will be followed by a series of reforms to strengthen the social protection ecosystem, including improved functions at the Perkeso Rehabilitation Centre, 24-hour protection for workers, and increased benefit rates.

Perkeso Chairman Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal stated that Lindung symbolizes the organization’s commitment to safeguarding the vulnerable, assisting the working class, and upholding the dignity of all workers. He added that the goal is to ensure that all citizens in need are “protected,” “assisted,” and “empowered.”
