KUALA LUMPUR, 22 August 2025: In a landmark event marking a significant stride on August 20, 2025 towards empowering micro-entrepreneurs, the Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development, YB Datuk Ewon Benedick, officially launched the “Dapur Digital” (Digital Kitchen) at Kampung Limau.
The event, a collaborative effort by Yayasan Hasanah and Pepper Labs, aims to provide vital support to small-scale business owners, enabling them to thrive in the digital economy. During the ceremony, the Minister underscored the crucial role such initiatives play in fostering individual and national development.

Datuk Ewon highlighted the need for micro-entrepreneurs, particularly those from low-income communities, to adapt to the digital landscape. He explained that Dapur Digital is a comprehensive support system designed to go beyond just providing a physical space.
The program offers hands-on training and resources for essential digital skills, including creating compelling visual content like posters and social media graphics, editing business-related media, and professional writing to articulate their business narratives. This holistic approach ensures participants are well-equipped to manage and grow their ventures online.

The Minister’s speech reaffirmed the government’s commitment to social enterprises and public-private-philanthropic partnerships. He pointed to the Dapur Digital project as a prime example of successful synergy between government entities, corporate foundations, and social innovators like Yayasan Hasanah and Pepper Labs.
This cooperation not only provides modern facilities but also ensures participants receive mentorship and guidance to secure financial independence and self-sufficiency.
This initiative acts as a catalyst for economic growth, demonstrating that with the right tools and training, individuals can transform their culinary skills into sustainable, profitable businesses.
By helping these entrepreneurs navigate the complexities of the digital world, Dapur Digital contributes directly to closing the digital divide and creating a more inclusive and prosperous society for all. The program’s success at Kampung Limau is expected to inspire similar community-led projects nationwide.
