Today, on the fourth anniversary of the iconic playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam’s passing, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin declared that the street where the artist’s home is situated would get his name. The singer suffered from poor health as a result of a coronavirus illness till passing away in 2020.
As a token of respect and homage to the legend, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin formally renamed Kamdar Nagar, Nungambakkam’s main thoroughfare as ‘SP Balasubrahmanyam thoroughfare.’ This action leaves a permanent mark on the influence SPB had on Chennai and the Indian music scene.
