KUALA LUMPUR, 9 July 2025: Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo today called upon the Malaysian Indian community, and all Malaysians, to actively participate in the free artificial intelligence (AI) and digital skills training programs offered under the government’s “Rakyat Digital” initiative. This nationwide effort aims to significantly enhance digital literacy and prepare the workforce for the demands of the rapidly evolving digital economy.
The “Rakyat Digital” initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Digital through MyDIGITAL Corporation, represents a crucial milestone in Malaysia’s journey towards becoming an advanced digital nation. Building on the success of previous programs like “AI untuk Rakyat,” which saw over a million participants, this expanded initiative offers a diverse range of online courses. These include essential topics such as CyberSAFE untuk Rakyat, Generative AI, Cloud untuk Rakyat, AI Fluency, and Blockchain untuk Rakyat. Future courses, including Data untuk Rakyat and Quantum untuk Rakyat, are also slated for introduction to further deepen public digital knowledge.
Minister Gobind highlighted the collaborative model underpinning the initiative, which brings together government leadership and expertise from key industry partners. Collaborators such as Cybersecurity Malaysia, Intel, iTrain, Microsoft, and Trainocate jointly provide practical and interactive online modules, ensuring high-quality training is accessible to the public without charge. This approach enhances cost efficiency and expands the reach and impact of digital upskilling.
The initiative emphasizes accessibility, inclusivity, and flexible learning, providing a seamless experience for all participants. Malaysians interested in exploring the available courses and empowering their digital future are encouraged to visit the official website at rakyatdigital.gov.my.
