11 APRIL 2021: A teenager is selling cotton candy at night yet he is a mechanic in the daytime. His name is Mugilan s/o Arumugam he is 24 years old. He works as a mechanic from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at a car workshop in Sek 7 Shah Alam and a cotton candy seller from 8 p.m. to midnight at I-city Shah Alam. He said he also used to have 1 job before but now he has to work two jobs since his dad can’t work anymore. His mother’s name is Rajeswari; he also has an elder brother named A.Yogarajaan.
Furthermore, as his family needed extra income he started looking for a part-time job; that’s where he came across this cotton candy business. This young man always wanted to make sure that his work was not the same as others. To make his work unique he started learning a few techniques from YouTube. The best part of his cotton candy is he does a variety of shapes such as teddy bears, pandas, love, flowers, and many more. He mentioned that a few designs were created out of his own creativity, which sounds great.
Moreover, he also shared that his circle of friends does make fun of him in the beginning for doing this business nevertheless he never loses hope. His family was a little worried about his health as he had to sacrifice his sleep for his work. Besides the obstacles he faces, his only consent is to make money and support his family. He shared that sometimes he has no time to eat as he will be catching time for his work. He has no off days for his Cotton Candy business while his mechanic job is off on Sunday.
As he does two jobs it is quite tiring for him, he mentioned that his mechanic job is stressful so when he comes back in the night for his cotton candy business it is very mind-relaxing for him. He loves looking at the small kids eagerly waiting for him to do that cotton candy. That kid’s happy face once they receive cotton candy makes him even happier.
In the future, he is also planning to buy more cotton candy machines so that he can open more branches. To the future generation, ‘do work which you love, you can only sustain in your work if you do it with your whole heart’.
